Summary of the story

Preah Neang Jieyou (; literally "Great Mountain Peak of the East") is a 2005 Chinese drama film directed by Yu Dong. The film tells the story of a peasant girl who dreams of becoming a musician and leaves her home to pursue her dream. The film was entered into the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. The film revolves around a peasant girl named Mui who dreams of becoming a musician. Her family is against her dream, but Mui is determined to follow her dream.
