Summary of the story

Long after Sam first came to Mon's deliverance when they were kiddies, Sam is unambiguously Mon's hero. In order to be near her, Mon gets a job working under her. When they eventually meet again at the office, Mon is surprised by her icy surface, so different from the image she would had of her and what she herself wants to be. Mon and Sam are not just different in demeanour; they stand piecemeal in class and between them is a gap of eight times.
